Personal Injury Suit Against AstraZeneca Dismissed

A judge’s decision on May 26 to throw out a personal injury lawsuit against AstraZeneca PLC was the third case dismissal regarding the drug Seroquel. The plaintiff claimed that Seroquel, an anti-psychotic drug, caused development of Type II diabetes. The Delaware judge’s ruling was made on the basis that the plaintiff’s medical expert failed to establish a proper cause-effect connection between the drug and the development of Type II diabetes.
